i cant sleep right now bcoz i think how im gonna perform at work, how im gonna do at school..and when im there, my mind seems to be somewhere else anyway...my mind is cluttered...what can i do???
i also think of other things i can do when im doing alot already..im always excited for something new.

Almost sounds like you are a little bit manic. That is when you are very hyper and your thoughts just keep racing. Sometimes it keeps people from sleeping.
Have you ever been down or depressed? The possibility of Manic-depression or bipolar is there. You might want to get it checked out. You could have a very mild case of it. The other possibility is ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) which makes it hard to get things done cuz you are always scattered in your thoughts and easily distracted. Both of these diagnoses are easily treated.
Otherwise, try to avoid all caffeine and keep to a regular sleeping schedule. Then try to focus on only one thing at a time.
You are saying that you dislike the jumbled feeling that you always have something esle on your mind, but you are fascinated by it.
So, a lot of the suggestions here focus on SUBSTITUTION - find something ELSE that you MUST concentrate on. Try hitting golf balls -- it feels great to smack the crap out of them, and learning new skill will get you involved with other folks from other walks of life.
It is hard to walk AWAY from an old thing -- easier to walk TOWARDS a new thing.
as long as you are wanting to "think think think", you are focused on holding on.
When you really do let go, it will be because you will be DOING something else you like. You may not realize you are no longer obsessing -- for days at a time.
Get off the couch and get into a new groove!
Try walking, swinging your arms and feeling the tingle of the blood in your fingertips. Feel the crunch of the gravel benath your toes. On that moment the 'self-destrcutive' you is no longer present. Spend some pleasant time with the You who is not self-destructuve. Get to know that new you, listen to this new person's thoughts.

Here's a relaxation method I learned that works: While lying in bed with your eyes closed, think of the muscles in your toes, and relax them. Then relax the muscles in your feet. Work your way up your legs, your back, then your neck, face, forehead and scalp. Then relax the muscles in your shoulders, arms and hands. Then, at last, all the way down to the tips of your fingers. Take your time and focus for five or ten seconds on each muscle along the way. When you have completely relaxed all of these muscles, imagine yourself lying on a cloud that is as soft and cushy as if it were a giant cotton ball, and you are just floating on this cloud with all of the muscles in your body completely relaxed. You don't hear anything but the gentle wind in your ears from floating around in the sky completely relaxed on your big soft fluffy cloud with not a worry in the world. If you start to think about anything else, start focusing on relaxing your muscles again, starting at your toes and working up to your forehead then down to your fingertips. Sweet dreams.....
It's a serious problem that unnecessarily complicates your life. Part daydreaming, part worrying, part annoying, major distraction. Teach yourself to concentrate on work and shut out the other stuff. It CAN be done. Shut your mind off part time at least once a day and try to solve a problem, like thinking too much (not at work, do that when your job doesn't depend on you, like after work).
try to relax and brethe, maybe a yoga class.
use your head, if you can't sleep because you are woried about work tomorrow, lack of sleep will hinder your work. thry to think about the present. You only have the present. you dn't have yesterday or tomorrow, just now.
Execise, get some hobbies, listen to soothing music and watch some comedy tv or movie. Enjoy the present becuase you won't ever have it again.
