I have an elitebook 8470p hp laptop and am currently messing around with virtual machines. i have read in many places that i need to enable vt-x in my bios, but when i log into my bios, everything administrative is locked. i am the only user on this computer and no one else has ever used it, how is it possible that my account isn't administrative? How can i fix this?

Unfortunately someone put a password on your laptops bios. Sometimes when you enter the password to many times you will get an error code. Sometime you can use this code to unlock your bios online.

Hp's have a feature where you can lock your bios setting so that others cant mess around with it . look in the books your laptop came with to get the username and password to your bois i think its been factory locked . my factory username was admin and my password was user . then i changed it afterwards but i found all details i needed in the hps box it came in
