If a home owner in South Carolina receives a Notice of Foreclosure from GMAC how long do they have till they have to be out of the house? As you can see, this question is state and lender specific so the answer(s) to this question would best come from someone with personal experience in this state with this lender.
Update:I forgot to mention that a modification was already done a couple of years ago so that is not an option anymore.

If you received a notice of foreclosure, then the process has just begun. Depending on the court backlog it could be 6 months or more. Now is the time to consider a short sale. GMAC, and most other banks, are becoming pro-active in short sales. Depending on the amount involved they may consider a deed in lieu of foreclosure.
