when you think they should be done, cut a slot in the center and look at the meat. It should NOT be at all pink.
I usually broil inch thick chops for 5 minutes per side 4 inches from heat source.
I fry inch thick chops for about 5 minutes per side completely defrosted, longer if they are still frosty inside.

For an inch thick...I'd preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Batter chops and fry to brown batter. Transfer to baking sheet and finish them off in the oven, appx 30 minutes.
