I've saved up about 6000 dollars to travel western Europe next year. I have lots of family and friends in England, Scotland, Germany and France who I can stay with. My parents will be giving me $150 a week for food. So my money will be used for accommodation when needed, activities, and extra expenses (and probably some food since I feel like 150 CAD won't cover it all if I want to eat out). I will probably have an accumulated 5-6 weeks accommodation free by staying with friends and family.
I'm wondering how long I'll be able to travel for with staying at hostels and doing some classic tourist activities.
Places I want to go are: England, Scotland, Whales, Ireland, Germany, France, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, and maybe Spain?
If you could give me a really rough estimate that would be great :)

For each day you spend as a tourist you should expect about $100 to $200 (for expensive cities like London and Paris)
Each day you stay with your relatives and friends can be as cheap or as expensive as you want.
It is not even unlikely that your hosts will pay for all if you stay only a few days.
But on the other hand, it is also a good thing to take hosts out for dinner in town or bring a gift.
How much you actually need when staying with friends and relations is hard to say. I once met a guy traveling around without any money, relying on hosts finding the next host when he had no friends near enough to travel to. He did it for at least two years, likely longer.
Remember the rules, you will usually get a stamp in your passport for 180 days (in a year) in the UK and for 90 days (in 180 days) in the Schengen zone.
How long are you intending to spend in Europe?
Have you considered the time, let alone cost, of travelling between all of these places?
Do you know where in each country you want to visit? I'd strongly suggest you get a few guide books.
Well, Western europe is more expensive. I would suggest not eating out too often, eat your biggest meal at lunch so that the restaurants will be cut down for workers on break. If you are staying with family I think you could last up to 4 months on cheap. check out the savvy backpacker website its amazing!!!!!!
Look at a map. Look at distances. Look at train fares (like SNCF or Deutsche Bahn) Lookat costs of travel within cities - bus fares etc (llok at tourist web pages for London or Paris etc). Very expensive. Use food stores, avoid restaurants.
First of all, you will NOT be able to visit all of those places on one trip, you don't have enough money for it. If you have friends or relatives who can give you accommodation, that's helpful, but it will only take you so far. Plus it depends on where you want to go in those countries.
