Twenty minutes is not long enough to wait. The parent bird takes a long time to get their food. Baby Robins are the only birds I know that eat worms. Most other baby birds eat all kinds of small bugs.

you are going to kill it by feeding it dog food and over feeding the poor thing. please take it to a 24hr vet & they will call an animal rescue to come get the bird.
