Ok, surfing the net when suddenly a pop up came up saying threat detected, looking into it did the whole removal thing and tried to open google chrome, it said that it wasnt found and just simply not working. This also just happening less then an hour ago, so I just tried to downloading chrome again and a pop up came up saying threat detected.
Now I dont know what security system you guys were using but im using AVG and normally its supposed to be free, but Iv been getting this pop up saying that its about to expire and that I have to go buy the new one, now this may sound crazy but maybe AVG is just trying to make me buy the new security thing, by giving me a trojan or I dont know but yeah, maybe someone had a similiar case ?
Also getting this trojan horse dropper generic name? any answers please?

I experienced just the same. Have AVG. Tried removing Chrome and reinstalling it. Still same Trojan warning, BUT: Then I:
1) restarted my computer (forgot that the first time)
2) Updated my virus database in AVG
3) Redownloaded Google Chrome
and the problem was gone. Now I have Chrome again (Like it very much)
f you're getting an error that suggests Chrome contains "Trojan horse BackDoor.Generic13.YYE" AVG seems to be the problem. It is strongly advised that you update to AVG 9.0 or 2011 free versions as it is mainly being observed in AVG 8.5.
If you don't want to do this, you can revert back to an older virus definition:
- Go to Tools
- Advanced settings
- Go to Update and use Manage to revert
Same thing happened to me. I uninstalled, did AVG virus scan and heal (wouldn't heal) and then re-installed google chrome and got same results: trojan backdoor virus. I uninstalled google chrome again. Then went to AVG got the FREE 2011 upgrade. Then ran the upgrades virus scan. No more virus but I am not uploading google chrome again for awhile. I think someone must have gotten in their system.
Same thing happened to me. I removed chrome and downloaded again. But AVG is not allowing me to install it and warning about the trojan generic 13
Pretty simple work around;
1: Open AVG's Resident Shield
2: Add <C:\Documents and Settings\"YOUR ACCOUNT NAME"\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application> to the MANAGE EXCEPTIONS
3: then reinstall Chrome.
The exact same thing is happening to me! I'm using AVG, too.
I'm really peeved by this. I've been considering switching anti-virus software and this may just be the incident that moves me away from AVG permanently.
Apparently its a problem with avg you need to drop back to a old virus database or something do it by going tools ---> Advanced settings ---> update ---> Manage ---> Revert virus database!!!
