Me and my ex have been separated for 2 weeks. Tuesday while I THOUGHT he was at work. I used my key to go into his house to get my things but as soon as I came into the house he came out the living room saying we need to talk.... I told him that there was nothing to talk about n I'm just getting my things n I will go. He said NO lets talk first. Just give me 15 minutes to explain n I said NO and turned around to leave I headed for door when said he missed me n I shouldn't give up on us. He's the one who messed up. Why should I talk to him now? Anyway our friends are having a BBQ tomorrow n they invited both of us, do you all think I should talk to him and let him explain his side? I just don't want to be mislead into believing he still loves me when I feel he doesn't. What do u all think?

I think you should give him a chance to at least explain. Sure, he messed up, but he could have a logical reason for it. I know most people always blame the other, but sometimes they never really did anything wrong. I have a friend who thought her boyfriend was cheating on her, because she thought she saw them kissing, when actually, a girl was trying to kiss him and she didn't stay to see him push her away. I got them to talk to each other and he explained everything. If she didn't give him a chance to explain, they would both be hurting. So you should at least give him a chance to talk. If you don't like what he's saying, then you don't have to get back together. Just listen to him for a minute.
It depends on what 'messed up' means. Did he rob a bank, have an affair or just forgot to call you?
Little things can be overlooked. The big ones are not to be given a second chance or a minute of listening time. YOU have to answer that one. Sorry and good luck!
I think you need to move on. He's gonna say anything to get you back cuz he's desperate. If you're done, you're done...don't let him guilt trip you or manipulate you into getting back with him because you'll just be back in this position a year later.
