Prove your worth through your play and practice. Especially practice. Many players don't take it seriously enough. If you play hard consistantly and have results, the coaches should notice. But we all gotta be careful, because sometimes we fall in the trap of thinking we are playing better than we are. Give it acoupla weeks at 150% effort on your part, then ask the coaches what is up. But the best way to approach it is not to ask them why you are not playing more, but ask them what it is you need to improve to get more play time. It will diffuse any tension, keep any fingers from gettin g pointed, and show the coaches that you want to be coached, that you really want to contribute to making the team better.
We need some info. What position you play. Height/weight. stats. And of the players around you. There is a way that you can ask them w/o coming off like a ********.
Go to your coaches and ask them what you area you need to improve apon in order to get more playing time in practice as well as in the game. Ask them what things you can do physically and mentally to become a better player. Tell them that you have a strong desire to be able to help the football team achieve success; and that you are willing to do whatever it takes to help the team and that you feel like you are underutlized but realize that you need to improve yourself.
Its hard to tell what you need exactally. Add more details to your question and I'll come back and try to help you out. Remember that your attitude should be about helping the team, not about yourself. Let me know your position, height/weight, speed, and how you play your position. Your philosophy on playing football and your position. And let me know about the other kids at your position and what they do well or don't do well. Also let me know what you think you do well and don't do well. There is a lot you can do to improve. Even if you are a top flight all-star there are always areas that you can improve your game.
I totally agree with MongodaGreat, if you think you are being underused..........then you need to prove yourself worthy on the field in the position you are in. Complaining about it to the coach isn't going to get you anywhere.
i really don't like guys like you on the football squad if your really that good you would make some big plays in practice n; be used... bottom line if your seeing time than your an afterthought and need to bust a move... or work harder...
you obviously suck man.
