Age of Empires 2, screen resolution problem.?
Hi, my girlfriend and I always play Age Of Empires 2 on lan on our Acer laptops!
Both laptops running on 32x Windows 7! but our graphics drivers are different!
Age of Empires on mine looks perfect, it fits the whole screen...on the other hand my girlfriends laptop, it doesn't take up the full screen..only shaped like pan screen? if you know what I mean...
Well, I really want to figure out how to make it wide screen on my girlfriends laptop! don't mention "Change the resolution" I've tried every single one, doesn't effect the game's resolution what's so ever
AND I have tried changing the resolution within the game and that doens't change either!

Age of Empire is pretty old Game. I doubt if it support Wide Screen. You can search for a Patch.

If the link opens up in a weird text file on your browser, just save the page as an .msi
Here are the steps to run the Patch:
Step 1:
Run the msi, it will make an icon on your desktop.
Step 2:
Run the icon on your desktop. It will run through a quick batch file (should take less than a minute) And will create another batch file on your desktop. (Under the name of your screen resolution or something like that.)
Step 3:
Rename the batch file to whatever you want your shortcut to be called (give it an icon if you want :D ) And run it. It will run the main menu and cinematics normally, but in-game will be your default resolution size (If your desktop is widescreen, so will AoE2)

Age of The Empire 3 is a game I grew up with. I had loads of fun playing this for very very long hours. In my opinion, this game is amazing. It has fantastic graphics and lot of new and cool features and upgrades which added more excitement and entertainment in the game.
It's my favourite game.
