1993 Gmc 1500 Pickup 5.0 trouble?
i let truck set for a year went to start up and ran for 5 min and quit.changed fuel filter ,and cleaned tank.truck will start but will not idle only run if peadel held to floor but runs at a low power also backfiring.checked the timing by taking #1 plug out and bumping to get #1 cy on up and rotor button was aimed at number 1 so could the timing chain jump some or what should i try now?

that timing chain is pretty reliable, i dont see that as part of the problem. id look for a vacuum leak, since you mention idle issues. timing could also still be 180 out.
