Okay. I am having my 14th birthday party June 2 (1 week after actual b-day). I am inviting 40 people and thought about having it in my back yard under our car port. It would be from 6 to 8 at night and i already have a music playlist picked out. My question(s) are:
1. How to know if everyone or most people are coming to the party?? (I REALLY want at least 30 people.)
2. What if it rains??
3. What foods to serve?? (Foods Will be inside0
and
4. How should I play the music?? I already have the playlist, but if I play it through iTunes, I have to buy ALL 36 songs. If i play it through Youtube, there will be a long space between songs and we most likely aren't getting a DJ.
Thank you in advance and please help me!!!!!! :)

1. Set an RSVP date. If not enough people have said that they can come by it, then maybe invite a few more at last-minute. Tell some friends to invite their friends. If you still don't have enough, remember that the amount of people really isn't the most important part. Sometimes large parties can get a bit out of hand and insane. They are a lot of work!
2. If it might rain, either schedule another date or improvise. Try renting some tents, like the ones that they have at large events with metal legs and large white roofs. You could string outdoor lights around the top and make it look cool.
3. If you are planning on providing a decent sized dinner, barbeque. Hamburgers and hotdogs are easy. If you just want small snacks, go to somewhere like Trader Joe's(if you have one). They have tons of snacks. If you don't have Trader Joe's, just go to the grocery and buy chips, salsa, fruit salad, candy mixes, soda, crackers, cheese, cookies, brownies, etc. Things that don't need to be hot are best. However, there are some good frozen appetizers like pigs in a blanket that are frozen and can just be baked for ten minutes. You could also ask people to bring food if possible.
4. Music is tough. I have Sirius XM, which you have to pay for each month but it has a lot of good channels for all music types. I can just plug my iPod into my iHome and it will play the radio. There are plenty of free music downloading sites and apps as well. Go to iTunes and download an app like Music Downloader Pro(It was $1 when I got it) or Free Music (Full version is $1). When you open the app, it will give you all kinds of worthless music downloading sites. Ignore them. Type in mp3skull.com in the browser. Once the site pulls up, you can search each song that you want to play and download it to your iPod touch/iPhone/ iPad. It will be stored in the app's player. All of the music should play once you plug it into whatever you are using for speakers. If you want it in your actual iTunes library, a lot more work is involved. You have to plug in your device to your computer. Click on the device in iTunes and go to the apps tab at the top. Scroll down to file-sharing apps and click on the music downloading app. You will see each song file displayed. Click on a file and the "save as" button. Save it to your iTunes library, which is probably under libraries>music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Music. In the music folder, you will see all of the artists already in your library. If the song that you want to save belongs to one of them, click on their folder, select the correct album, and save the song in the album folder. If the song doesn't belong to an artist that you already have, create a new folder for them and name it correctly. You don't necessarily need to create an album folder inside the new artist folder unless you have multiple songs that you want to save which are from different albums. Once you have done all of this, right click on the saved song, and open it in iTunes. It should begin playing automatically. Right click on it and select "Show in playlist> recently added". This will add the song to your library, and then you can add it to your party playlist like a normal song. If you want album art, you will have to right click on the song, then click "get info" and correct all of the information about the song title, artist, and album title(if it isn't correct already). Then you should be able to right click on the song and select "get album artwork". iTunes should be able to identify the song and add the correct artwork to it. If not, you will have to find the picture online and go to "get info" and add it there. I know it seems like a whole lot of work, but it gets easy after a while and saves a lot of money. mp3skull.com has just about every song, so I rarely have to buy music any more.
Good luck with your party! Have fun(:
1. Why don't you have them RSVP? If you sent out invitations with your number they should let you know if they're coming or not. Or if you & most of your friends that you invited have a Facebook you could make an event for your party? Then you could see which people say they're going.
2. It's probably best to check the weather on the day of your party just to be sure it doesn't rain & if you're not able to and it does rain then move the party on inside is my best guess. But maybe it just depends on what state you live in depending on the weather.
3. Hmm there's a whole variety of foods you could serve at your party & it really all depends on what foods you prefer. Maybe foods like pastas, salads, or finger-foods like those little sandwiches they serve at subway that come in a party size of 20 or 30 i think? (they're delicious) & Sorry if you're not familiar with Subway. Or you could do it simple like order pizza? With other snacks you prefer too.
4. For the music you could play it on an ipod (if you have one) & connect it to some speakers? I've seen my friends do it before but I'm not so sure about this one i'm no good at technical things [:
-Sorry if i wasn't any help!
1. You can ask on facebook saying ' hey if your coming to my party plz tell me' or something like that. Or on your phone text it and press send to all contacts and have them reply
2. If it rains have it inside or if you ( and your friends) don't mind have it in the rain.
3. You can serve mini sandwiches, pizza, or BBQ. And I would say for desert a ice cream bar.
4. You can just have it on YouTube nobody will really care if they have to wait the next 30 seconds for a song. Or play pandora or have a radio going
Happy early birthday!!
1, Put an RSVP on invite, really, I think if you invite 40 people the odds are that enough of them will come to make it a good party.
2, on the invite, warn people it could be postphoned, on the day of the party, if it is raining, call everyone who has said they are coming and tel them it is at a different date.
3 because of the nature of your party maby small bite size foods that can be taken from a tray and eaten (canapes) as well as nibbles like pretzels, popcorn, chips. A cake, some friends of mine had a really good spit roast for their sons first birthday. you could ask people to bring a dish for a bit of a pot luck

4, try to get the songs on cd and play the cd. you can also have multipul you tube windows or tabs downloading at the same time, just pause or mute the ones you don't want to play yet.
I turned 14 years old a few months ago, for my party I had a pirate theme and invited 8 friends to sleep in 2 large tents.
we cooked dinner on a fire, had a carrot cake shaped like a treasure cheast, and the next day we did a treasure hunt around the farm I used to live on, my Dad hid the cheast on a little island in the middle of the pond the sheep drink from was fun cause we had to use his boat to get to it.
I love parties I might have a international theme for the next one and serve food from differant countrys or I might have a bible theme. I love this website for more Ideas.

1)Ask around to see if people are coming or tell them to make sure to RSVP
2)If it rains you're in trouble but you could go into your basement if you have one-or inside
3)You could serve chips, pop, etc. just about anything(make sure to ask people if they have allergic to anything
4)For the music you could download it to an iPod, computer, a dsi or 3ds or something like that
Hope this helped!:)
