Hey,
For Christmas i got a 32" Sanyo Plasma which is HDMI compatible so I decided to use the xbox 360 HDMI.
I went out the next day, bought a HDMI cable (not the microsoft xbox 360 one) and connected it all up.
The picture is great, but the sound on anything other then 2.0 is terrible and doesnt work.
So I leave it on 2.0 but then when I went to watch a movie on it, all sound settings are terrible.
What can I do?
The sound on the HDTV is always great, but its connected to a 2005 surround sound system (SITB- Sound In The Box) and I want that to be working.
So overall-
Picture great
Sound great on tv
Sound great on Surround Sound when on 2.0
Once i insert movie its terrible sound on Surround Sound but NOT TV.
Help me plzzz i will award 'Best Answer'

Are you using a optical digital cable for audio? From xbox 360 to the HTIB. U should be. Check the audio output settings; use Dolby Digital format
If you use analog audio cables, then you must set xbox to 2.0; otherwise xbox only sends front left and front right channels to the HTIB (thru red+white cables)
If you are connecting the 360 to your tv, and then the TV to the HTIB - that may also be the source of your problems. Your Sanyo may not be able to pass any surround sound info from the xbox. Connect the 360 directly to the htib via optical audio cable
If none of these suggestions can be applied, then it's time to upgrade your surround sound!
i think of you may desire to acces the "dashboard" and visit device tab/blade The look on the settings for video. this is there which you have the alternative of choosing 480p , 720P, 1080i , 1080p opt for the alternative you like. Then on the decrease back of the xbox, the place the cable harness attaches to the container, there's a swap to opt for television or HDTV opt for HDTV and final yet no longer least, verify you television is setup to demonstrate in HD
