I have been training at home for wing chun and i had no idea how to train other then practicing the forms. I had no partners that i can train with. I also had troubles with improving my techniques because i don't really knew what went wrong whenever i did chi sao with my partner. Any tips for chi sao and training alone?

Tips:
Shut down your shoulders. Or your shoulders will get tired.
Any technique in Wing Chun; Do not think of it as just defense. It can be defense or offense.
Your elbow must not touch your body, it needs to be about "one fist" distance away from your body.
Never fully extend (Hyperextend) elbow. That's bad for joints. Always keep a slight bent as your punch.
Relax your muscles, don't tense up, or else you will take the recoil of your own punch.
Maintain your structure at all cost, do not lean forward and do not lean back. If you want to get close, move your entire body in.
Key Concept: • Attack with both sides of the body. Let’s say you punch with your right hand, your right shoulder naturally swings forward by your waist. Even if your left shoulder does nothing, you need to attack with both sides of your body (left and right). This is a very key concept. If you do not do this, you might as well swing your hips and learn Boxing.
o.o As a beginner, you should start with Dan Chi Sao; learning with one hand. Once you understand that, you move on to Chi Sao with both hands.
It tells how to do Dan Chi Sao: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WYPd-pnclc&feature...
P.s As you do the forms, as your hand reaches out, your body sinks low. As your hand moves back, your body rises up (Very slightly). It's like a shovel.
In other words, Sil Num Tao is not JUST HAND MOVEMENTS! You need to focus on the "elbows" and "Body structure". It is also the most important form.
