yep there's no "faupex" virus,
it could be malware.
as already suggested, download MalwareBytes, update it and perform a scan on your entire computer setup, all the drives, a Full scan. If it finds anything it will notify you and ask you iwhat action you want to take. Quaratine or whatever.
Also, Trojan Remover is another excellent program for weeding out hidden unwanted parasites.
Both are free to get off the net.
Have you used the Kaspersky AV to scan the external disk? The entire computer?
If you contracted the so called virus from your friends laptop onto your external disk then it probably got into the computer operating sytem. The Windows folder. Thats where most virus and malware head to and reside.
uhm theres no virus called faupex :P
anyway try this
If you did not format your flash drive, then check whether the files are not in
hidden mode. Follow the following steps.
Step 1:
Click on the below link and download the file "AutorunExterminator"
http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-11613-auto...
Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator" --> Plug your pendrive now.
This will remove the autorun.inf files from your pendrive and also from drives.
Step 2:
Click on "Start" -->Run --> type cmd and click on OK.
Here I assume your pen drive letter as G:
Enter this command.
attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*
You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and
paste it.
Note : Don't forget to replace the letter g with your pen drive letter.
Now press "Enter".
Now check for your files in Pen Drive.
Step 3:
After that, download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the below link
http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwar...
Update it --> Perform "Full Scan"
Note : Default selected option is "Quick Scan".
Good Luck.

malwarebytes in safe mode with your system restore turned off
next time try to scan the external hard drive before you do any downloading , saves time and energy
Lol I infected my friend with the fapex virus once.
