Do what i usually do, check out online what is ur places of interests,then book ur hotels close to wer most of ur places of interest is, so u can actually walk around..instead of confusing ureself changing transports all d time..besides. walking is the best way to see a country coz if u see somethin that u wanna see, u dont have to hop off a bus juz to go to a particular shop. take ur time planning ur routes. London provides the double decks bus rides to the more " popular places" if u wanna see everythin in a go ( in a bus ride ). But they also include a boat ride ( Thames river ) . U prolly wanna go see the London eye ( bird's eye view of everything )..

A must see in France is of coz the popular Eiffel tower , the Louvre Museum & the Notra Dame. Wud advice u to buy a 3day pass for the Louvre Museum as the whole exhibition is rather big.( only if ure interested in museum stuff ) or else u can skip it.Juz remember to always keep ur money in separate places so just in case u lose ur wallet, u still have "some" hidden. Pickpockets are common near tourists area..hit u when u least expect it..in trains..crowds on d streets.Also, dont attract thieves by "flashing" how much u have. it sorta tempts em.So best make sure u secure ur belongings.All u need to do is kick back..relax..and enjoy! This is a very broad question, but when you are in London, there is one particular way to get around which I find useful and reasonable. You can take a tour bus which runs round all the regular tourist and shopping spots, you can jump off when and wherever you want on the route, and then after seeing what you want on foot, jump back on another bus on the same route and travel onto the next stop which interests you. I can't remember all the stops, but one certainly leaves from Victoria station. I think London Transport runs them and they are very reasonably priced. Hope this helps and have a great time.

Since you don't know much about them, I suggest buying travel guides. My favorites are the "Let's Go" series (I think they have ones specifically on London and France), and also the National Geographic guides. They give good itinerary ideas and show you how to get the best from your money. Also, while you're in France, make sure that you do your best to speak the language; the French will appreciate this and be very polite in return. Remember that London is expensive, so make sure you bring more money than you're planning to. Above all, make sure you learn as much about the cultures as possible before you go.

Best to first research the National / City Tourism sites which I've listed below and find out what you are going there for.

Then get some airfare quotes from a travel agent and look into accommodation deals ith a reputable European website.
