I have a two year old qh gelding i am starting under saddle soon but at the moment am still working on groundwork.
I was going to start saddling and ground-driving and ponying but it has been raining so much that my arena is just not safe.
Are there any more flexing, ground exercises i can do?
I have been flexing him with one hand on the bridge of his nose annd gently pulling it around on both sides until he does so by himself when i barely touch him. I have also been working on him dropping his head when i touch his poll.
I have been doing a little showmanship too.
Any tips? thanks a ton!!

Check out Clinton Anderson's videos on youtube. Some are for in the saddle, but there are some helpful ground work vids. :)
you could do some de-spooking exercises too. :) be creative.. I like to use tarps, empty milk jugs tied together, pool noodles, hoola hoops, plasic bags, paper bags, flags, brooms, branches with leaves, sheets, kiddy pools (the small cheap plastic ones), bicycle horns, cardboard boxes, ribbon, BIG BEACH BALLS, :) teach him to play soccer :) anything around the house really, AND YOU CAN USE AUDIO TOO!!! I really like the the spookless audio CD's they're worth their weight in gold.. look at their website spookless.com,
have fun and good luck!
