You know, I like this one. Time travel has already been done. You get to experience it when you learn about and practice outer body experiences and near death experiences. You do it in your sleep. Just think about deja vu. It is a form of time travel and you just happen to sense it at the time you are witnessing it. We all travel outside the body in our sleep. Like in sleepwalking the soul just didn't separate from the body in to the akashic record (the whole memory record before and after death) . You can go beyond space and time. You can also defy gravity. You just have to know that it has been done before. There is nothing new under the sun. If you can think it it can be done somehow.

Theoretically yes. you could go back in time and attempt to find any given religious figure. However I think you will find that the scientist who are intelligent enough to create a time machine are too fearful of creating a permanent rip in time and space resulting in a black hole that will kill us all.
