I had just heard about Heroscape recently and was shocked to find out it was discontinued. I was really excited to play it- it looked great. So i propose a question: Is there a game like Heroscape that is still being made?
Settlers of Catan doesn't supply the need for action I crave. Risk seems good but not fantasy enough- perhaps there are expansions/mods to the risk game?
I also saw a card-like game where you controlled robots and tried to hack into each others computers and machines, but I don't know what it was called. Any help?
I'm looking for strategy, not RPG like D&D.

Heroscape was usually considered a simpler form of wargames such as Warhammer (which are larger, more expensive, and more open in tat it uses measurements instead of playing boards). There are a few smaller versions such as Necromunda (scifi gang skirmish), Mordheim (fantasy gang skirmish), Inquisitor (larger scale character skirmish/rpg), Battlefleet Gothic (spacecraft battles) etc which use less models, but these too are discontinued. All of the models are still available though, and the rulebooks are free to download from Games Workshops website (as are all of the expansions), so maybe worth a look?
Also in the small scale wargames category you've got things like Hordes or Warmachine.
Heroclix is quite similar, using a squared grid instead of a hex-grid like Heroscape, and I believe new sets are still released from time to time (with lots currently available in a LARGE variety of styles). The rules are relatively simple as well.
For one-off investments (ie: buy one thing only) you could look at some larger board games, most notably those from Fantasy Flight Games. Descent is a good dungeon-dive game (control characters through set adventures using tiled areas), and maybe Twilight Imperium (a scenario or non-scenario based game with many spacecraft).
Not all RPGs are in 1/3 individual. Bethesda Softworks makes some 1st man or woman RPGs (The Elder Scrolls series, Fallout three). I've not ever obvious an RTS that used to be in 1st individual, i would doubt it's feasible. An RPG is a game the place you play a personality or social gathering and for the duration of a narrative. You obtain stats and phases which make your fictional persona superior. Examples include the ultimate fantasy sequence, Dungeons and Dragons, The Elder Scrolls and Diablo. World of Warcraft is an example of an mmorpg (vastly Multiplayer RPG). An RTS is an actual Time procedure sport. A game where you manipulate an complete army or civilization. You accumulate assets to construct troops, villagers, constructions and transports. Your purpose is to rule the map (most of the time through destroying your opponent(s), however some video games allow different avenues of victory). Examples of this kind of recreation incorporate the Age of Empires series, the Civilization sequence, Halo Wars, and Starcraft. Hope this helps!
There are fantasy editions of Risk such as Lord of the Rings, Halo, and Legacy.
Heroscape can be bought in the used game market and it can turn up discarded in thrift stores.
The computer card game you may be searching for may be called Hacker, published by Steve Jackson Games. Link: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1250/hacker
