I'm teaching my partner Spanish, I have o methodology skills though, so for you english native speakers who learnt Spanish, can you give me some tips to help my partner learn?
**Go over the pronunciation of the alphabet, paying special attention to:
--the vowels, in Spanish vowels have only one pronunciation while in English, there are long -------------sounds, short sounds, silent vowels,....etc.
--consonants that are pronounced different than in English, like:
h (mute in Spanish unless followed by c -or- s)......etc.
g
j
--consonants that are not part of the English alphabet:
ll
ñ
-Go over the special combination of letters, like:
gui......güi (explain why the diaeresis, what it means, and the difference between both)
gue.....güe
**Practice the pronunciation.
**Ask your friend to read simple things in Spanish, it helps with the pronunciation and the person will develop a vocabulary.
Just only speak spanish to your partner. Eventually he/she will pick it up without even realizing it.
