Sims 3 - Error during startup?
ok, so i installed the sims 3, sims late night and ambitions, updated everything, and when i go to the startup it just says error during startup, check log. so i uninstalled them all, and just put the base game in, updated it, and tried it, still the same, its since this update has come out it says this. why would they put out an update that stops you starting the game! can anyone suggest anything else?

I had that problem too, and after the hassel I had to remove it all from my computer (I have all the expansion packs, and the error wouldn't allow me to uninstall, so I had to go through all that registry stuff), I became very wary of actually updating the game.
Are you fully updating the launcher and game? You only need the updates required to play the games you own, and if everything is updating, even the stuff for games you don't have, then it can be rather pointless. The best way to deal with this is to just leave the updates to a minimum, if it has a window that comes up and says 'there is a new update, would you like to update the game' then say no (except when installing a game).
The other option is to buy a new expansion pack, there are plenty to choose from. Buying one (that was released after Late Night/Ambitions), means that the game has to update again, and in some instances, that works as well. The best one to go for would be the latest release (Pets) as it means that it has had all the software updates, and hopefully, that should fix the problem.
