Hellloooo!
OK so :)
For my little sister's *(age 15)* Christmas, I'm roadtripping to Chicago. It's her, my 19 year old sister (I'm 19 as well) and our mom. I wanna do the Winter Wonderland package (ice skating, too) and I have reservations booked at the American Girl place for her at dinner. Is this realistic to get from the Pier to there? Is parking generally ok or is it smarter to just pay for ice skating and park somewhere else?
Also - how close is the Magnificent Mile if I park at Navy Pier?
Is there also any fun hidden rooms of stores or anything fun like that I can take them to, to make it extra special?
Thank you for your time! <3
Update:Oh, also. We're going on the 28th :)

I live in Chicago so I know mostly all the places people would like to go visit. In Navy Pier, it is realistic to get from Pier to the American Girl Diner. I suggest you park in between Pier and the Ice Skating place. Also, In Navy Pier they have some amazing mazes, and cool mirrors.
It's great that you're visiting Chicago! although i'll warn you now, it's extremely cold right now. We just got about 6 in. of snow today :O
but skipping all that, it looks like you have your trip pretty well planned out. from personal experience, parking in the city is really really really hard to find. It's always full and on top of that it's expensive :( try to stick with public transportation if you can, it's faster and you won't have to worry about walking in the cold weather if parked your car far.
The magnificent mile is pretty far from navy pier. especially in this weather i wouldn't recommend it. Try going to millenium park instead (idk if you heard about that?) its right next to the magnificent mile and it's absolutely fantastic, especially this time of the year:) they have great food, live entertainment, ice skating, gift shops, pretty much anything you can think of.
also if you want to do a little shopping (it can even be window shopping..) you should stroll down Michigan Ave. It has really top notch stores, and it's even better during winter because of all the decorations and christmas tree lightings that they do in that area.
I hope you have a good time in the Windy City!
lol bring plenty of warm clothes!
