I had lymphoma two and a half years ago. I've been cancer free for two years, and my last chemotherapy (CHOP-R) was in October of 2008. I still have terrible leg cramps some nights. They wake me up, and it takes several minutes to get them to calm down. Anyone know if this is something I will have to deal with forever, until I die. Or will it eventually go away? I'm 54 years old.
Update:Thanks for the answers. Yes, my oncologist suggested drinking a little Tonic Water with Quinine. It helps, but not completely. I guess I was hoping someone would say, it goes away after five years, or something like that. Thanks for your replies, you're helpful.

That chemo is long gone by now.. However, I get restless legs terribly now and I have found some stuff at Walgreen's that is actually amazing stuff. It's called Restfull Legs. It's a homeopathic pill that you just pop under your tongue and let it melt. It has no flavor and it takes about 4 of them. Withing 20 minutes, my legs cleared right up.
lol since my last round was in june of 09, i'll let you know if 4 more years! Seriously, try that stuff at walgreen's. I couldn't believe it really worked within minutes..I've never been one to get pain relief with that mind over matter crap, so if I say it works, it definitely works!
There are medications for leg cramps. This can also be caused by low levels of some electrolytes in your body and eating foods or taking supplements may make them occur less often. Have you visited with your doctor about these leg cramps because there might be a treatment that will work for you. And, you can go to WebMd.com and type in leg cramps and read up on some of the advice given there
