Why does lebron get away every time he travels, each time he goes for a lay-up he takes 3-4 steps, my friend says it is because the NBA wants higher scoring and for the games to be exciting is this true?

Yes, he does. I've seen it with my own 2 eyes. He pickes up his dribble from around the free-throw line, which isn't always a bad thing if u shoot wehn your supposed 2, but when he goes, he takes his 2 steps which are allowed, then when a defender comes over 2 pick him up, he takes another 1-2 steps 2 get around him and lay it up or dunk it. I've seen Dwayne Wade do the same thing, but i've never seen Kobe do that, maybe becasue he's the best pure scorer in the league, if he travelled he might average like 40 points a game:P
think Lebron's Feet Move so Fast It looks Like He's Traveling but he's really taking the Normal amount of steps that are required. I used to think the same thing about allen Iverson but when I actually recorded a game of his I put it in Slow motion and saw he took the normal two steps. try it out sometime, Record one of Lebrons games and when he goes to the hoop put it in Slow motion and look for yourself to see If he's traveling or not.Yes, he does. Same reason Jordan always got away with traveling and palming... he's a superstar and the league's #1 box office attraction.
However, unlike Jordan, Lebron did get called for steps in the finals this year...you remember that play when he was ahead on the fast break...got cut off, and took 3 steps just as he got to the lane...
I think that this is very true. My dad is actually a basketball ref and he says that the refs let little things like traveling go to make the game more exciting. How do you think Allen Iverson has become what he is? If he was called everytime for traveling he'd be playing basketball on the and one team rather than in the NBA.
I did see Lebron get some calls for traveling in the Finals but the Cavs were sucking anyways so they most likely just let get away with it most of the time.

Yes I noticed the same thing. I think they let Lebron slide because he carries his team and is supposed to be a superstar to help promote the NBA. So they let it slide.
I dont like to see that because it makes it alot easier to score when you can take more steps to avoid defenders. Its basically cheating.
Haha, you're right. He does travel and get away with it. Watch this link in the source area.
HE DOES TAKE A LOT OF STEPS WHEN HE'S GOING TO THE BASKET BUT I DON'T USUALLY WATCH HIM .i ONLY WATCHED THE GUY IN THE FINALS AND HE RARELY EVEN WENT TO THE BASKET BECAUSE OF THE GOOD SPUR DEFENSE.
for the same reason they didnt call michael jordan for travelling
