I'm going to be in 9th grade next year and I really want to make the team next year. Does anybody have any tips on making it. I will do everything it takes to make it so please tell me anything. Thanks a lot :)

Go to your local gym and start taking some tumbling classes. Don't be embarrassed if you can't do much, just start with the basics and work your way up. A trampoline is great to practice cheering on! Practice tumbling and your jumps on there.
Search up a bunch of videos on youtube on how to pull stunting moves such as a scorpion, heelstretch, scale, arabesque and a bow & arrow. Generally, if you are a smaller girl there is a chance that you might be a flyer.
If you are unfamiliar with cheerleading, here are the positions in a stunt group:
Flyer: The person who gets lifted up in the stunt by the bases
Bases: Two people of the closest height in the stunt group who are in charge of lifting up the flyer
Back Spot: One person who assists the flyer in loading in and getting her up to her position in the air as well as catching her
Front Spot: Assists the bases in lifting up the flyer, extra support for the stunt group
Search on youtube the different stunt levels like Prep and Extension. Also search on youtube Basket Tosses, Toetouch Jumps, Herkie Jumps, Pike Jumps and Tumbling Passes for Cheerleading.
Try and get yourself to be as strong and as flexible as you can. Work on your Back Handsprings, Back Tucks, Roundoffs and more (make sure to have a spotter on hand, and stretch before performing any tumbling skills. This is extremely important!).
Good luck! :)
Excersise a lot, and practice the counts they do the jumps to. Also making a few friends on varsity, and JV wouldn't be a bad thing (:
well what i did when i joined cheer all i did was stretched, a lot and i would definitely take up some tumbling classes. because a big part of cheer is gymnastics.
