i would not use pads either. i take our puppy (who is 11 weeks old) outside all the time. we say "let's go potty!" and sometimes she runs to the door, other times we have to pick her up and take her outside to a spot to pee or poop. sometimes she gets distracted and plays with weeds or bugs but most of the time if we keep saying "go potty" she goes-- then we praise her and give her a treat. we ALWAYS give her a treat after she goes. it is day 3 now of her not going in the house and i am hoping she is getting the hang of it. but i refuse to use potty pads. do you have a crate for the puppy? if you put her in a crate, she wont go in it- dogs dont like to pee or poop where they sleep. this helps potty train them too. you can put her in there, and every hour take her outside to pee. she may cry in the crate but eventually she will get used to it. also, put a treat in the crate to get her to see its a GOOD place to be. :)

I've never used training pads or a crate. For potty training we start day 1 outside.

The dog gets used to the pads and then gets asked to go outside instead.

At 6 weeks you'll have to give it loads of time and patience.

She's too young to be away from her litter anyway so give it time.
