We had run offs for the 100m today. And I think I pulled my quad. It hurt really bad. I started to cry. Even doing light stretching. We have run offs tomorrow for the 200m, should I race? What should I do?
If you pulled a muscle, I would suggest not running in the 200m tomorrow. Injuries normally don't heal overnight especially muscle pulls. Injuries need time to heal. Continual running or stretching may just aggravate the injury more and it will take longer to heal. Try using a joint and muscle medication rollon called ACTIVON that you can buy at your local drugstore. If that doesn't work, try heat patches over the affected area. You may wake up tomorrow feeling no pain but that doesn't mean the injury is healed. As stated before, you have to give it time to heal and try and ease back into your routine after the healing process.
