My computer's been average speed-wise, but when editing videos (it's a hobby), my program gives me messages saying, "Memory allocation failed" or something like that, and it says my computer's unstable. I checked the "RECOVERY" thing under computer and it said, "372 KB free of 17.2 GB". I don't know if that's bad or not. Can someone help me make my computer faster? Would it help if I bought more RAM? Thanks.

RECOVERY sounds like a separate partition in your hard drive that your computer manufacturer put there to have in case you need to reinstall your computer to factory settings.
Download Speccy and see how much RAM you have, if you have less than 4GB it might be worth upgrading.
Remember that Memory and Hard Drive Space are different, but sometimes called the same thing. If you're running out of Hard Drive Space (or Hard Drive Memory) then delete some files, if you're running out of RAM while editing, upgrade your RAM.
Try diskcleanup . . .
