I thought I could make it through a yellow light but it turned red right before I went through. The ticket says it will be a minimum of $119 but I looked on a city website and it says it'll be $172. Is there any possible way to make the cost as low as possible? And if so please tell me. And if you need a little more info to help with the answer here it is: I'm 16 almost 17, It was about 12:15 am when I got pulled over, and I was going the correct speed limit.

The yellow light is only 3 seconds long. This gives a person who is 300 feet away travelling 60mph plenty of time to stop before it turns red.
It sounds like you may have been driving after curfew. The judge will need to decide how long to suspend your license for violating your minor drivers license restrictions.
Of course this is the answer for my state - you forgot to disclose your state and all 50 states are different.
You can try goin to court to ask for a lower fine and traffic school.
You'll need to be accompanied by your parents/guardian.
You  parent or guardian might decide its actually cheaper to just pay the ticket instead of missing work.
Take traffic school too so the insurance doesnt go up.
I did my traffic school online with gototrafficschool.com and used a discount code: X2K-7CF-4F5 to save 2bucks off their 20buck course.
For the final exam search for traffic school answers 2012 and you'll find the review questions and answers.
