my hair is really thick, but whenever i try to curl my hair loosely, it gets this weird calluk thing that makes the ends point in the other direction. help me please!!
I get the same problem. It's annoying, I wash my hair before try to really let the conditioner set in. And once it's dry and ur about to curl don't curl the very ends. Leave them untouched so when u let ur hair go. Cause the ends are the easiest to get damaged so when applying heat it shows the damage. And use a hairspray that holds but doesn't harden. Hope that helps :)
Hmm i have thick hair too but if yours is really thick then go get it thinned out and then when your curling it hair spray it so it doesnt get all werid.

Depends what you are using to style it? Are you naturally curly or are you using GHDs or a curling iron?
If ironning, do it in layers and use different types of tightenness in the curls.
If naturally curly, curl as normal, then straighten the top layer and curl it with the irons

Try rollers and some hair mousse, or go to the salon and they'll style it, just tell them what you want.
