Just make sure you get out and do things w/ friends so u dont become too bored. Homeschool is way better than publis school anyway, you get more work done in half the time and generally come out way smarter!
I'm an education major and I actually just got done taking a class where this was a major topic. Where you child goes to school should depend on the individual child. You want to send your student to where they can develop the most. If you feel that the public schools in your area are not sufficient enough then don't send your student there. A lot of public schools in America are not doing too well so I can definitely understand your worry. Private schools may or may not work, sometimes parents can't afford them or don't believe in what they may stand for. Home schooling can be very successful for some, although others may argue that it keeps them from developing socially or having a sense of self. If you're afraid of you student lacking friends get them involved in some kind of activity, or camps, most communities offer a bunch of things for kids to do. Students are all different and should go to school where you think they can do their best. Some do better in public while others do better in homeschool, that's why they are all offered. There is no right or wrong way, just each persons individual belief.
I'm in homeschool too!! There is nothing different. The only difference is that you do your work at home, you can sleep late, do your work anytime you want. But you don't meet any people since your not in school unless you take a class somewhere.
I went to public school for 5 years, and then the rest of my schooling was done at home.. Out of the two, my favorite was the homeschooling.
I liked how I got to stay home, I got to do school on MY time, I was able to learn what I wanted to, I was able to be myself and not what everyone else thought I should be, I was also able to learn things I would use in real life, and the relationship between my mom and I grew greatly.
I will admit that at times I got lonely, but it was only in the first year
Public! I wouldn't try as hard if I was at home, and wouldn't have nearly as many friends or be as happy.
...and to the girl above, actually, the public school here gets just the same as/sometimes better grades than private schools. I got top grades from public schooling all my life.
I just graduated, and I wouldn't have traded high school for anything simply because I grew up so much. High school requires constant people skills which I think are fantastic skills to have in the job world.
Public School is meant to fail you.
I would either go to Private School(which I love) or Homeschool(I also love).
If your going to be homeschooled make sure you have a social life.
Disadvantages:
Dont get to see friends so school is way more boring
Advantages:
You have a closer relationship with the teacher so you can get a better understanding of things if you dont get them
I HATED being homeschooled. U sit around all day and u dont talk to anyone. it sux.
