Long story short.. I own a house out by the beach that I rent out to tenants. The tenants ordered something like 25 yards of gravel to be delivered for use in the yard. The dump truck showed up and had to cross a small wooden bridge on the property. Needless to say the bridge could not support the trucks weight and collapsed.
Is the truck drivers company liable for the damages?? He should have been aware that his loaded truck weighing 25 tons could not drive over the small wooden bridge on the property.
I don't know if the tenant was there directing him to go over the bridge or not either.
Any ideas?
thanks!

The truck driver was given permission when told where to deliver the gravel. While I agree he should have know there would be a problem, you lose. You pay for the bridge or maybe a better way, your tenant should pay.
The dump truck is responsible but somewhere on the paperwork that your tenants signed will state that the both the truck driver and the company are not responsible for any and anything that will happen.
In other words you need to see the work order and read the contact, then you can go after the tenants.
If the tenant allowed him to come on then the tenant may be liable in a court, not sure.
You may want to post a sign stating a weight limit (to prevent future occurences)
I observed this in the paper and alter into horrified. that's what the engagement ring is for. it somewhat is the renowned-day such as the dowry. The above article did not even point out the reason that he allegedly broke up together with her. the article I study mentioned that he had already paid off what he believed to be all of her debt. although, upon sorting out that she substitute into indebted a lot deeper than he had initially concept, he desperate to interrupt off the belief. Granted that he went approximately doing so in a marginally chickenshit way yet nevertheless might he have long previous directly to marry her, he could have been in charge for the debt she introduced together with her to the marriage.
If you have a sign saying it have a weight limit, their fault.
If you did not have a sign, they had no idea of the capacity of the bridge, your fault.
