We were back in the sanctuary today. It was being refurbished for the last six weeks, and in the meantime we'd had a big tent revival under a huge white tent out on the lawn. It was so fun. The sanctuary is beautiful; new seating, new rock walls, new carpet, they really did a nice job. I hadn't peeked while it was being worked on, so it was all a surprise to me when I walked in! The sermon was in Acts 3-4, about Peter and the other apostles being threatened with regard to their preaching in Jesus name.
We were in Romans 12, especially on verse 3. Talking about being proud of ourselves. Pastor emphasized on not thinking of our selves more highly than one ought to think.
Like "look at me! I did things better than you did!" And "I am the quarterback, I won the game."
our gospel was from John 10 - the Good Shepard. the priest gave a beautiful sermon about the goodness of Our Lord - always wanting us safe, Sheparding us always and reminding us we need to do the same for each other.

I'd go to church with a posse, lol just in case the real holy Christians decide to give me an exorcism for being bi-sexual.

It was wonderful. I'm beat. Mass was perfect, the hymns were great. I preached on overcoming spiritual doubt from John's Gospel 16:16 and following.
And I got into a vocal discussion with a visiting Lutheran lady about The Blessed Virgin Mary.
We had granola and fruit and juice and coffee after. How California is that??
