I'm 18 and will be finishing my A-Levels in the summer. I have excellent GCSE results and I got 3 Bs and an A in my AS results. I could easily get into university but I've chosen not to go because I have no idea what I want to do and it's a hell of a lot of money, I don't really want that debt hanging round me for years. So now, I have NO IDEA what to do after school. My mum says I should go on the dole and try and win game shows (yeah she's been really helpful obviously...) my teachers are just horrified that I'm not going to university. My ideal job would just be working in an office somewhere, typing away and filing things etc but I've been privately educated for about 6 years so it seems like the simple jobs I'd like to do are just a 'waste of an education'. My life is just going down the pan, I'm terrified.

You need some kind of qualification or your work life will always be at risk of redundancy — one paypacket away from living on the street in a cardboard box.
If you don't go to university, you should start some kind of registered apprenticeship in a decent trade.
you are only 18, i would suggest continuing education beyond HS, you have lots of time ahead of you.
