so me and my ex broke 4 months ago, the broke up was kinda bad but at the end we were cool. I haven't seen her or talk to her since and all of the sudden she started following me on instagram. is she missing me or something? should i follow back???

You're overthinking. If she broke up with you consider it over unless she specifically says she likes you still. Following on instagram isn't a big deal. Most likely is that she either did it because she could, or maybe she just wants to try to be friends again. Follow back but don't read too much into it.
