I got my piercing about three weeks ago. Here is how my daily cleaning routine works:
I wake up between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and go to sleep between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. (late times i know!). A little after I wake up I will soak it for 15 minutes in a sea salt solution. Before I go to bed I will, again, soak it for 15 minutes in a sea salt solution. At some point during the day between those two soaks (generally in the late afternoon), I will wash it with Provon (which is what my piercer gave to clean with everyday.) My belly piercing seems to be doing perfectly fine. It does not seem irritated/infected. It seems to be healing quite nicely!
But, could doing this irritate/infect it in the future?

As long as the piercing is doing fine it should be okay, however you should cut out soaking it in sea salt eventually as it might stop it from healing, so even though it's not infected, it's not healing over.
No, and better safe then sorry anyway! (:
