I had my navel pierced just over a week now, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I've been using salt water bathing, tea tree oil and CX powder (antiseptic dusting powder) to clean my piercing. I was wondering if these were the right things to use, as my piercer said I'm to use those methods to clean my piercing.
Any other tips on how to clean my piercing?

well all body piercer's tell everyone different... my body piercer told me to use dove soap when i got a shower, she told me to soap up a rag and then squeeze the rag on to my stomach so it runs down and then push the bar bell up and down so the soap gets in the hole... and then after that she told me to let clean water hit it and push up and down and it..... i had my navel pierced 1yr and 8 months and i never had any problems with mine it never got infected, or anything cause i listened to my body piercer... good luck
It is possible to change jewelry during the first 6 months, but this is best done by a professional piercer. Once a piercing is healed anyone can change the jewelry.
Never use alcohol swabs, Betadine or hydrogen peroxide to clean your piercing
Never use alcohol swabs, Betadine, hydrogen peroxide, methylated spirit, or tea tree oil to clean your piercing. These do kill bacteria but they also destroy your healing flesh. Dead flesh then becomes easily infected.
Swimming is not prohibited while your piercing is healing, but you should only swim for short periods in pools that are thoroughly chlorine- or ozone-treated. Do not let your skin become wrinkly and soft. If you swim in the ocean or waterways, do not swim after heavy rain. Storm water run-off often contains bacteria and parasites.
people that tell you to use alcohol or peroxide don't listen to them cause it can also destroy your healing flesh. Dead flesh then becomes easily infected.....
Use the same antiseptic/antibacterial you would for getting your ears pierced, only keep a closer eye on any change in coloration or puffiness/infection. And be sure when you do clean it, wash your hands first.
i did the same thing when i got my bellybutton pierced, but what really helped it heal was when my regular doctor told me to use rubbing alcohol. it worked wonders, you could get it at cvs or any drug store
oh no no no i know that to make sure it is clean well you are to only clean it with hand soap matter of fact use"softsoap" thats what it is called
use organic herbal plants...theyre the best!
