If the main switch on the drivers side doesn't make the window go up then the passenger side button must be stuck in the down position. Try to unplug the passenger side button and then use the other to roll it up. The button being bad should not cause the drivers button from working. I work for advance auto and who ever told you this is wrong. If neither of them will roll it up then it may be the motor or the window relay.
Yes it will because all circuits back then went through each switch. If one switch goes bad, the other is inoperable. This was to keep kids from holding one switch in the down position while another pushed the master switch in the up position or vise versa) and blowing a fuse from shorting the positive circuit to negative going to the motor. All later models simply have an input signal from the switches to the body controller and the controller sends current to the motor thus simplifying the circuits and switches
the answer is yes I have the same problem with my caravan on the passenger side have someone place there finger over that area and use the drivers side to roll it up worked on my 2000 dodge everyone is different though good luck
