Ok, my truck fan will run for about 10 minutes after I first start in up, then it stops. Is this suppose to happen. Some people mention a loud noise when their fan clutch goes bad, but I done have any noise other than normal. Could this possibly be the wire harness. I did pull a code and SES light : P0526. Don't want o spend 200 bucks for a part that I don't need. Engine temp went over normal for first time today and this been going on for about 3 weeks. I cleared the code and no SES light back on. Any thoughts... I did check the fuses and all is fine...So could this be the harness.... Oh and this is the EXT model with the V6 In-line .
Thanks

The code P0526 is for the cooling fan speed sensor circuit.
Because a cooling fan speed sensor monitors only an electric motor, it is likely that you may not even have a fan clutch.
The code does not directly point out the exact point of failure. This would need diagnosing.
As far as the running for ten minutes and then stopping, that can indicate an overheating condition: the engine seized.
Yes, the problem can be in the harness but a technician is going to have to check things out to determine for sure what the cause of the problem is.
"Engine Vacuum" is another system that provides important information to your car's computerized management system. Locate the car's vacuum lines, and look them over, checking for unplugged connections, as well as signs of wear and cracking. It can be helpful to take a look at them with the vehicle's engine running so that you can listen for whistling or hissing sounds indicating a leak. While the car is idling the vacuum is at its maximum, so any leaks will make plenty of noise. Touch and move each line gently and listen for changes in the way the engine sounds, being careful of the engine's hot or moving parts.
