When I playednroblox on my gateway computer, and loged off and came on, my computer froze, and couldn't turn off. Please tell me if there is a virus, or if I shouldn't play it anymore!
The website itself is not a virus, but the games are. Most game builders use free models and sometimes the creators of these models sometimes infect them with viruses. I know because I used to play that game. It's full of 5-year olds and viruses. I don't think you should play anymore. If you're worried about viruses, download AVG and Malwarebytes. Two free softwares that clean out your computer.
To the guy who said I was wrong:
" "Infected" models are just regular looking innocent models. But when you insert them into a game, it turns into "ROFL", "HAX", or the most common "Infected". " - http://www.wikihow.com/Avoid-Infected-Models-on-Ro...
Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you come on here and answer a question. Some model creators script viruses into their models. Then, map creators sometimes download the models into their games. Trust me, I know about this stuff.
ROBLOX is not a virus. Reasons why not? Well the program itself might not look safe it is. It has been certified by many kid virtual companies that verify sites like club penguin and yes roblox. While the maturity level on roblox is low it is still certified to be 100% safe. The only danger is the games you build could contain in game viruses. It won't affect your computer but it will affect the game like, major lag, things not working, and random glitches. The reason those appear in games is if the builder puts free models(creations build by other people). Some can contain scripts that have virus hacks that will destroy your game, its hard to know if a model is safe or not. Its best to avoid them and build your own stuff. Here's a tip, if you add the model and if it has a script named rofl, infection, anti-lag, guest talking script, or any other crazy names it is most likely a in game virus. So yeah the download is safe just stay away from the in game viruses. Best of luck to chu.
No, ROBLOX does not have any viruses, it would take SERIOUS coding for something on ROBLOX to give you a virus, once, I thought it was a virus but its not. When my brother was playing it, his laptop crashed and put a blue screen, but that wasnt ROBLOX (well, partially). Rather your computer is slow, has crappy RAM,or you had too may windows open. So no, ROBLOX does notgive you a virus.
Yes it has a virus my brother played ROBLOX on his computer and got a virus so then we had to get him a new one. He didn't play ROBLOX on his new one. There are 12-18 year old hackers that give viruses. Never play it on a computer. Animal jam and club penguin have safe security but ROBLOX doesn't. He quit ROBLOX.
I Think you shouldn t download it, Yes, for some it never had a virus. But from me just playing the game(not clicking on any ads) I got me Trojan horse and a lot of other viruses. so I suggest don t get it on computer but on another device. You guys might think oh, that was from another website Wrong. I used a computer that on the other websites(before roblox) I NEVER got a single virus, since I cleaned my files every day and do security scans on everything that is on my PC. A few days after I Downloaded roblox, I got Trojan horse and malware. it was awful! I had to Reset my WHOLE computer, (which cleaned out ALL the dam files and removed programs I downloaded), and getting it back to normal. luckily it worked. From now on, I only play on my tablet, never the computer. I m just advising to beware of downloading it. If you do, that s your decision. just wanted to share my own opinion and experience from this matter.
I agree with Konami. I've have been playing roblox ever since it came out. It never effected me. It's a fun game for people at any age. Why would the game or someone put a virus in the game they like to play. It doesn't make sense.
When using free models, I recommend you pause in-game first, then place it down, then check for scripts that may be hiding in the model. Sometimes it may be helpful to look inside the scripts to make sure its safe. Also, I won t worry too much about the Fire with the "Spread" script inside. It s there so if the fire effect is active, touching it will set you on fire (it s quite clever). You probably already knew that though, but I ll finish by saying this; Make sure to delete any RotateP or Weld objects with scripts that could spread those objects to every model in your game. (Once again, insert these stuff while the game you re building is paused. Stuff won t change when your game is paused. It s a good opportunity to delete anything suspicious.) Good luck on there!
