hi, I'm applying for a college scholarship based on merit and an supplemental essay.
I was given a prompt:
In what manner can a woman most effectively lead change in today's world? (yes, it's a women's college)
and no other instruction other than when and where to submit the essay was given.
I knew there would be many others applying for this so my first instinct was to keep it short, maybe
just a little longer than a common app essay, which is 400- 600 words so about 600- 800 words.
but i'm not completely sure if this is what they want.
what do you guys think? how long do you think it should be?
oh and I'm a senior in highschool and the scholarship covers full tuition... so I don't want to make a mistake ><
Update:spageddy- yeah I'm doing it for Simmons too! haha
it really is vague... I was also thinking the same thing.
but it's kinda cool that if we both make it in there we might see each other!
good luck!

Lol, I'm doing the exact same scholarship essay for Simmons right now!
I would say that you should definitely be honest about it. What does a woman need to have in order to be a successful leader?
The length doesn't matter, it's the content that's important.
The question itself is pretty vague as well (well, that's what I was thinking), so you can really make it your own and take the chance to make it really interesting!
I wish you the best of luck :)
