you dont have the access configured properly.-- check to make sure you have the correct password to your router in the psp.
lol @ all 4 answers.
the wep code is on the bottom of the router???? at least give this person an answer that you know, not some bullshit.
#1. do you have security on the router? If you misenter the wep/wpa key the address will time out.
#2. did you let the psp fill in the network connection automatically, or did you do it? im going to bet you let it decide.
This is what you do.
on the pc hooked to the router, click the start menu, and in the search box type either (its dependent on what operating system your pc has) 'cmd' or 'command prompt' (without the ') when the window opens up type 'ipconfig /all' (space between fig and /all)
this will show you all the numbers (except security key) that you need to enter.
scroll down the list and you will see DNS SERVERS
the first set of numbers is the default router/gateway
the next two sets of numbers are the primary and secondary dns.
if you only have two sets of numbers, enter the second set for both the primary and secondary dns.
the only thing that should be entered differently in the psp is the ip address. more then likely, your default router/gateway ip address is 192.168.2.1 You do not want to give your psp the same ip address, or you will have problems.
if your ip address is 192.168.2.1 then 99% of the time this means the range is 192.168.2.1 through 192.168.2.200, so you must assign your psp and ip address outside of the range.. so use 192.168.2.211
now, to get your security key.
take the default gateway number, open the internet browser on your pc, and type the number into the address bar.
this will take you to your routers set up page.
first, you need to make sure these things are turned ON
UPnP
DHCP
NAT
SSID broadcasting
and turn off:
Ping blocking
i have no idea where these things are located in your particular router, so just go through the pages until you find them.
once those are set, go to the SECURITY link.
this will show you what your security key is.
if you have wep 64 you will see 4 different numbered lines of boxes with numbers.. use only the first set of 12.
(if youre using wep64, seriously, consider changing it to something more secure.. WPA<is the easiest for you to remember and the safest)
so there ya go.
Look on the bottom of your wireless router and copy the "WEP" number. Then you can set your PSP for manual infrastructure wireless set-up. During that process it should prompt you for the "WEP number" of your router (the one you copied down). Enter that number on your PSP and it should work fine. That is how I got mine to work.
It's pretty neat because I can actually check for my Yahoo "best answer" status on my PSP before my laptop even has time to boot up!!!!
Good luck!
once you're downloading folders of song, it won't paintings...had a similar prob. Insert a song on that's very own and see what occurs. make helpful nevertheless that they do no longer seem to be in .WMP format, PSP won't study it, they might desire to be MP3's. you're in a position to DL a demo of PSP Feeder, it works like a attraction.
Check your router settings
it might mean that your psp is notcompatible with your router
