Little boys start later than girls! You should wait for the signs...
1..does he know what pee and poop is
2..does he try to imitate what your doing when you going to the potty
3..does he tell you he has to pee or poop before he actually does
4..does he stay dry all nite long
These are just a few questions that my pediatrician asked me! Don't rush into things...everyone thinks that once a child hits 2 yrs old that he must be potty trained...not true!!! Allow him to show you when he is interested which probably will show up when he is 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 yrs old!
each child does this at there own pace. I would watch for signs, the main one to me was when they no longer like the feeling of having pee/poo in there diaper and would do there job and immediately take it off. You should find a few days you will be home all day, take off the diaper, put on big boy underwear and take him to the potty every 30 min. I know this seems like a lot but, they wont yet tell you when they need to go. Take him and reward him with a small treat if he goes on the potty, do not scold him if he doesnt. Just tell him if he does he will get a treat.
You could have introduced it earlier but don't worry because it's still just as good a time as any to introduce your child to the potty. There are a lot of websites out there with great ideas but all children react differently to different methods. Make sure you have a no pressure approach because stressing the child will only delay progress and cause confidence problems in your child.
For my son I gave him a lot of time at home with no diapers so that when he had accidents he realised how ooky it felt, obviously preferring to go potty and earn a sticker from mommy. It helps also to let your child accomany you to the bathroom and sit on their little potty while mom or dad is on the throne (ahh the glamour of parenthood) This encourages your child to try.
Some people don't believe in rewards but i did use stickers and it worked marvelously! My son would get a little star for every try and a big star for every success.
Expect accidents, maintain patience and celebrate every effort.
You can purchase a potty seat he can use at the grownup potty, or you'll be able to make him use the baby. Either method you'll be able to by and large have got to keep in the toilet with him till he is going for the primary few months of potty coaching. Don't assume him to be capable to move in there and deal with it himself. Grab a e-book and plant your self till he is going. Don't make it worrying. You can present a present of a few type if he makes use of both potty (like 2 m&m's). Be sufferer even though he isn't and do not fear. Training takes time.
you start when he shows signs that he is ready. I started with my daughter when she was 14 months and she still sint potty trained. she just isnt ready, so I give her breaks in between trying. heres a website and good luck

You should have been started. Just turn it in to a game. When he start going or every time he go to the bathroom give him a treat and cheer him on
It should have started from 15/16th month. never mind. Make him practising as early as possible. He will learn within few months.
