This may seem like an obvious question, however I never was never formally taught how to use Photoshop. I've just played around with it over the years.
Either way, I'm editing a photo and I really perfer how it looks in the Red Channel. I want to keep the photo that way. (The Greyscale option just doesn't give it justice.)
Ive read about copying the image while its in the channel and pasting it (and that worked for a while), but it's not working anymore, it just creates a new layer with the same colored image.
I hope you understand what I mean. Help?

The Colorize option in Image > Adjustment > Hue/Saturation lets you shift all pixels to a specific hue.
You can also just isolate the other color channels and fill them with default black or white (one of the two).
