I want to earn a Phd in psychology, although I really don't know the whole process to obtain such a degree. I would very much appreciate a simple, yet thoughtful, outline for obtaining one.
I'm currently in my second year of community college and intend on transferring next fall.

You'll start with a bachelors in psychology. From there, you can apply directly to PhD programs that will let you earn a masters on your way to earning the PhD (called a masters en route). A PhD is a research degree, and psychology is the second most popular major - admission to graduate school is very competitive, and it helps a lot if you can show some research aptitude. Get involved in research at the college you transfer to. Expect to spend 8-12 years in college to earn the PhD.
