today i hit my big toe (on my right foot) on accident by kicking it on a very hard door, i wasnt paying attention and kicked it pretty hard, it hurts to walk, but not so much. i went home & looked at it, its pretty swollen. the top part of my big toe is elevated up from the swelling and it is warm. i have already applied ice to it and it hasnt brought the swelling down as much, i have elevated my whole leg and took a rest and that seemed to calm it down for about 5 minutes but it came back. i can still move my toe up and down but very slow. and whenever i put pressure on my big toe, it really hurts and i end up yelling. do you think i broke my big toe? fractured? sprained?

Yeah it's surprisingly easy to break your toe like that. My cousin has a pinky toe that sticks out and he's broken it like 5 times just by stubbing it. And it sucks because there's no point in going to a doctor because there's almost always nothing they can do for breaks or sprains in your foot. They'll just tell you to keep ice on it, keep it elevated, and try to stay off it until it stops hurting.
I simultaneously dislocated my ankle and fractured my foot once, and after waiting 10 hours in the ER for xrays of my huge purple swollen foot, all they did was sell me a pair of crutches. Of course this was in Canada, land of wonderful free health care. :)
