That's normal, the spring is only going to rest in that groove until you reassemble it. Once you put the slide back on it's going to move up a little. You can keep doing it all day and see the same results.
Since you claim, "And i have it in the right spot" I guess there's not much else anybody can say.
So, I'll make these suggestions for anybody else who might be having a similar problem. I do happen to service and repair Glocks as part of my daily job. The flat end of the Glock self-contained recoil spring does NOT fit flush against the barrel lug. If it sitting flush against the lug, it is not properly seated and is going to protude down too far in operation (UP when you are holding the slide in your hand for assembly/disassembly). When the recoil spring is properly seated you must see a gap between the flat of the recoil spring and the barrel lug. The gap should be appx 1/32". If you don't see light, the spring isn't in right.
Bulldog has the correct, and most succinct answer.
The recoil spring is placed in "the right spot" for reassembly. However, once assembled, it fits into its own niche for cycle and function that, when the slide is removed, is somewhat different than the reassembly location.
Nothing to worry about. This is normal for a Glock.
well...a couple of points. Glocks are the easiest and quickest firearm I have ever cleaned. (2) why-oh-why would there ever be "gunk" built up on it ? You should never have to use that much lube...or that type. (3) if the spring is PROPERLY positioned in the detent, it shouldn't come out. (4) does the slide go back and forth esaily ? (5) ...TRY reading the manual or going to a YouTube video if you don't know wtf is going on with YOUR gun. (just how long have you had it,btw )
Do you have an owner's manual? If not you can download one from Glock.
