Recently, i have been looking for a good primary airsoft gun that can give me some good range, accuracy, and rate of fire. I've come along the Echo 1 p90, and the JG G3. They both average the same FPS ( 340-350 ) but i believe the G3 is going to be a lot more accurate.
What i am thinking of doing is putting a tightbore barrel, and a 9.6v battery into whichever one i get. I would get the p90 but if accuracy is going to lack, i am going to go with the G3.
My basic question is if i get a p90 and put a tightbore barrel along with a 9.6v battery in, can it hold up as a primary? or should i just get a JG G3.

To make the P90 as accurate as the G3, you would need a barrel of a comparable length. Im not sure why people say barrel length is unimportant, i own a UMP, my friend owns an M4. His accuracy is much better at extended ranges and his barrel is twice the length of mine but both are 6.04 tightbores. But if you were to get an extended barrel, you would need a suppressor to cover the extention, fyi.
So it depends on your playing style. If you play in the woods/ close quarters you might prefer the P90, because its more manuverable. If you prefer playing in fields, the G3 will be more stable because of its size and therefore more accurate.
Performance will be practically identical. JG actually manufactures both of those guns, Echo 1 rebrands them. The build quality, therefore, will be very similar. Go with whatever style you prefer.
The barrel length has a slight effect on accuracy, but nothing noticeable. A tightbore would help with that anyway. JG guns have decent accuracy even without a tightbore.
I have a marui SG1, but I also have a CA G36... I would have to say go with the CA over the echo... they are a better quality. however you might find that the big G3 is not well lent to CQB/indoor, it will do quite well out of the box at the rest of the game styles you wanted... my advice would be to consider one of the more compact CA rifles if you want to include CQB to your gaming, or look into picking up a secondary weapon for the truly up close stuff. a good GBB pistol can handle most CQB environments perfectly well when carried in a drop leg holster as a secondary. alternatively get the G3 and deck it out for the longer range games, but pick up an mp5 or similar SMG to serve as a secondary. my g36 came with great performance out of the box. as for the E1... my local shop sells them, but I am not impressed with the one owned by a friend. but that is just my opinion. Hope this helps some. Brother Valarien Callsign: Neon Highly upgraded Marui G3-SG1 Stock CA G36 cheap H&K USP Match clone Spec Op Ghost DSS kit.
