In the reference frame of the photon, its creation and its annihilation are simultaneous events. In that sense, they don't "experience" time.
It travels through time in the same way that YOU travel through time.. As in you are here now... and also NOW, and those are at different times.
Photons are a little bit special, due to relativity (so if you were the photon, time wouldn't move), but in the end its the same.
Not like you're thinking. But the star light that you can see at night has been traveling for a very long time.
