Update:what i mean is the product quality. like do amazon sell the original product? like if i purchase a cd on amazon would the casing be the same if i purchased it on the band's website?

A good record player will sound virtually the same. The thing is, music is recorded digitally, so CDs are better in many ways, particularly SACDs (Super Audio CDs) which are louder, and can be turned up louder with less distortion, an aspect not true of records. Records also change minutely over time. It will not be exactly the same after even one play, so if even it's handled well but played too much, it will degrade and distort more and more. DVDs don't have as good of audio quality since it's making room for the video data. CDs are great and can be imported to a computer directly as high quality WAV files, only some computers play SACDs though, but SACDs are the best quality available.
